Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued less than ten are of face value while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they merely act as the 2 hands to be played).
2 hands of two cards are then given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for every hand is the total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is removed. For eg, a hand of 7 as well as 5 has a value of two (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card can be given depending on the foll. standards:
- If the player or banker has a tally of eight or nine, both gamblers stand.
- If the gambler has five or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart shall be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the two scores wins. Winning bets on the banker pay nineteen to 20 (even money less a five percent commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have cash remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie customarily pay out 8 to 1 and occasionally nine to 1. (This is not a good wager as ties will happen less than 1 every 10 hands. Stay away from placing bets on a tie. However odds are greatly better – 9 to 1 versus 8 to 1)
When played correctly, baccarat offers relatively good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with all games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. One of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is never actually an actual indicator of future happenings. Keeping track of historic outcomes on a chart is for sure a waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most accepted and probably most successful method is the one-3-two-6 method. This method is employed to boost successes and minimizing risk.
commence by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract four so you have 2 on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a value of six on the 4th wager.
If you lose on the initial wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Therefore you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
