Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards that are valued under 10 are counted at face value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they just act as the 2 hands to be given out).
2 hands of two cards will now be given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for every hand will be the sum total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is dropped. For eg, a hand of 7 and five results in a total of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card could be given depending on the following practices:
- If the player or banker has a value of eight or nine, the two bettors stand.
- If the bettor has five or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart is used in order to figure if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the 2 scores is the winner. Successful wagers on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even money less a five percent commission. Commission is monitored and paid out when you leave the table so be sure to have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pays out at eight to 1 but sometimes 9 to one. (This is a terrible wager as ties will happen less than one every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try placing bets on a tie. Even so odds are far better – nine to one versus 8 to one)
Played correctly, baccarat presents generally good odds, aside from the tie wager ofcourse.
Baccarat Tactics
As with every games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is not a predictor of future results. Tracking of historic conclusions on a chart is a complete waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most popular and possibly most successful tactic is the 1-3-two-six method. This method is used to magnify successes and cutting back risk.
start by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove 4 so you have 2 on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd gamble, add two to the four on the table for a total of six on the 4th gamble.
If you don’t win on the 1st bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the second creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Therefore you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
