Punto Banco Standards

Baccarat banque is played with 8 decks in a dealing shoe. Cards below 10 are worth face value and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is one. Bets are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these aren’t actual people; they just represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two cards are given to both the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand is the sum total of the two cards, but the 1st digit is dropped. For example, a hand of five and six has a value of one (5 plus six equals 11; ditch the initial ‘one’).

A 3rd card can be dealt depending on the rules below:

- If the player or house gets a value of eight or nine, the two players stay.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he takes a card. Players otherwise hold.

- If the gambler stays, the bank takes a card on 5 or lower. If the gambler hits, a table is used to decide if the bank stays or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two totals wins. Winning bets on the bank pay out nineteen to Twenty (even payout minus a five percent commission. The Rake is tracked and paid off when you quit the table so ensure you still have funds left just before you depart). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning wagers for tie typically pays out at 8 to 1 but on occasion nine to one. (This is a poor wager as a tie occurs less than 1 in every 10 rounds. Avoid gambling on a tie. However odds are substantially greater for nine to one vs. 8 to 1)

Bet on correctly baccarat offers pretty decent odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Strategy

As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has quite a few established myths. One of which is the same as a absurdity in roulette. The past is not a fore-teller of future events. Keeping track of past results on a page of paper is a poor use of paper and a snub to the tree that was cut down for our paper needs.

The most accepted and possibly the most favorable scheme is the one, three, two, six technique. This plan is employed to maximize winnings and limit risk.

Start by placing one dollar. If you succeed, add another to the 2 on the game table for a sum total of three units on the second bet. If you win you will hold six on the game table, subtract 4 so you have two on the third wager. If you come away with a win on the third round, add 2 on the 4 on the game table for a grand total of six on the 4th bet.

If you don’t win on the 1st round, you take a hit of one. A profit on the 1st bet followed by a hit on the second causes a hit of two. Success on the 1st 2 with a hit on the third gives you with a take of 2. And success on the initial 3 with a loss on the fourth means you break even. Succeeding at all four wagers gives you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means you can squander the 2nd wager 5 times for each favorable run of 4 wagers and in the end, experience no loss.
