Punto Banco Rules
Baccarat chemin de fer is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than ten are worth their printed value while Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is one. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these aren’t really people; they simply represent the 2 hands that are dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for each hand is the sum of the cards, however the beginning number is ignored. e.g., a hand of 5 and six has a total of 1 (5 plus 6 = 11; drop the initial ‘1′).
A third card will be dealt based on the rules below:
- If the gambler or house achieves a total of eight or nine, the two players stand.
- If the player has less than five, he takes a card. Players otherwise stay.
- If the player holds, the house hits on a value less than 5. If the gambler hits, a chart is employed to determine if the banker stays or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the 2 hands wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out 19:20 (even payout minus a 5 percent commission. Commission are recorded and paid off once you leave the game so make sure you have funds left just before you depart). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winning bets for a tie usually pay eight to one but on occasion 9:1. (This is a bad bet as a tie occurs less than 1 in every 10 hands. Be wary of putting money on a tie. Although odds are substantially better for nine to one versus 8 to 1)
Wagered on properly punto banco gives pretty decent odds, aside from the tie bet of course.
Punto Banco Scheme
As with all games punto banco has quite a few established myths. One of which is the same as a myth in roulette. The past isn’t a prophecy of events yet to happen. Tracking previous results on a page of paper is a waste of paper and a snub to the tree that was cut down for our paper desires.
The most accepted and almost certainly the most favorable course of action is the 1-3-2-6 plan. This technique is deployed to pump up winnings and limit losses.
Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you succeed, add another to the 2 on the table for a sum of three units on the second bet. If you succeed you will now have 6 on the game table, remove 4 so you keep two on the third wager. If you succeed on the third round, deposit 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum total of six on the 4th round.
If you lose on the initial wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first round followed by a loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a hit on the 3rd provides you with a take of 2. And success on the initial 3 with a defeat on the 4th means you balance the books. Winning all four rounds gives you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means you will be able to squander the second wager five times for every successful run of four wagers and in the end, experience no loss.
