Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards below a value of 10 are said to be worth face value while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they just act as the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards shall then be given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for each hand shall be the sum of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is dumped. For example, a hand of seven … five has a score of 2 (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card might be dealt depending on the foll. regulations:
- If the bettor or banker has a tally of eight or nine, both bettors stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the player hits, a chart will be used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores is the winner. Successful wagers on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even odds minus a 5 percent commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so be sure to have funds still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie as a rule pays 8 to 1 but occasionally nine to one. (This is an awful wager as ties occur less than one every ten hands. Run away from placing bets on a tie. Regardless odds are certainly better – 9 to 1 versus 8 to 1)
When done smartly, baccarat presents fairly good odds, aside from the tie wager obviously.
Baccarat Strategy
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. One of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is not an actual indicator of future actions. Tracking of previous outcomes on a chart is undoubtedly a waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most accepted and probably most successful tactic is the 1-3-2-6 technique. This schema is deployed to pump up successes and minimizing risk.
start by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away four so you have two on the third bet. If you win the third gamble, add two to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth gamble.
If you don’t win on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. A win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
