Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards that are valued under 10 are counted at their printed number meanwhile 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they only symbolize the 2 hands to be played).
2 hands of 2 cards will now be played to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for each hand shall be the sum of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of seven and five results in a tally of two (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).
A third card might be given depending on the following practices:
- If the bettor or banker has a value of eight or 9, each gamblers stand.
- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the bettor hits, a chart might be used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning wagers on the banker pay 19 to 20 (even odds less a 5 percent commission. Commission is monitored and moved out when you leave the table so ensure that you have $$$$$ left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winner bets for tie normally pays out at eight to 1 and on occasion nine to one. (This is a terrible gamble as ties will happen lower than one every ten hands. be wary of wagering on a tie. Nonetheless odds are somewhat better – 9 to one vs. eight to one)
When played effectively, baccarat presents pretty good odds, away from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with all games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. One of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is never actually an indicator of future happenings. Staying abreast of last outcomes on a chart is undoubtedly a complete waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most commonly used and feasibly most successful technique is the one-three-two-six scheme. This method is used to build up wins and minimizing risk.
Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the four on the table for a total of six on the 4th bet.
If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Thus you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
